Why can't I post an ad?

I am not sure what I am doing wrong, but I can't seem to get the system to allow me to post an ad for parts? It is saying I have not got access to that function? Any insight?

Talking Re: Why can't I post an ad?

I really like this site , but this issue is like a thorn in foot , I post on here all the time and would post more and trade and swap if it wasn't for the fact that they charge you to do so ,
I can post FREE ad's for sale , want to buy , want to trade for a camaro
www.camaros.net
FREE ad's for novas www.novas.net
FREE ad's for impalas www.impalas.net
FREE ad's for chevelles www.chevelles.net
but for a 67 to 72 truck you have to pay ? I am not going to pay it myself , this would be the coolest site on the internet if it wasn't for this , I still like the site and all but that really suck's ,

Re: Why can't I post an ad?

$25 is a deal and a half. Look at what Feebay charges you to sell. Look at what you pay for Magazine subscriptions (which are mostly advertisements). No one says you gotta pay, but it helps keep this site as great as it is.

Re: Why can't I post an ad?

It's the price you pay to use the site. I've subscribed for years and found it to always be money well spent. Its a huge audience with the same interests in trucks. You'll not find that anywhere else.

It was put into effect to give some assurance that someone isnt just joining here to screw members out of money on bum deals. Plus, the server space for this site ain't cheap either.

Re: Why can't I post an ad?

If the site owners did not have to pay for server space, spend 40-80 hours a week on upkeep, spend for new software to handle the load the members put on the site and try to keep it all balanced while paying their mortgage, keeping food on their table, their kids in the normal activities kids need, andclothes on their own backs while working like the rest of us they could probably give you the greatest 67-72 chevy truck resource on the net (or anywhere else). But alas they too have to earn a living and don't really have the extra to support your sideline sales business.

I sent in my $25 for the first year even though I didn't intend to buy or sell ANYTHING. It just is the best truck forum there is and you will get $25 worth of good advice and entertainment every day.

Re: Why can't I post an ad?

The montly cost to keep this place on line is the same as some house payments. That's a lotta money.
There's other truck sites to list parts on if you refuse to pay... but all of them combined don't have the traffic this one does.

The best value I have ever spent $25 bucks on!!! The information you get, not to mention the cool dudes (and dude-etts) on here you can get to know...

Everyone on here knows that times can be tough. That is why it is never pushed that you HAVE to be a supporter. However, I can see it from the staff's view that the line has to be drawn somewhere as far as what a non-supporting user can access. It takes tons of time, not to mention money to keep this site up and running.

Consider it an investment that you WILL see a return on now-a-days!!!

Don

There will always be non-believers, but you can pay $14.95 for a Haynes manual and they don't come close to this...http://www.67-72chevytrucks.com/vboa...t=rocker+panel
This, and TON's more is available for the world to see for FREE because of guys and gals like Kevin, Josh and Liz and all of the Mod that donate their time. It is the members of this community, subscribing or not, that make it what it is, Josh pays to maintain and store this stuff for the betterment of all Chevy truck enthusiasts and notice there are no pop ups.
Congrats to Prostreet 72 for turning blue. You have already been an asset to the board.

Well, what he said. I just put up my 25$ no problem. I'm working overseas and wont be home this year or at least till Nov-09. I'm on this site a couple times a day. This realy lets me feel at home for a few minuits out of my 7-12 routiene. I'm having my truck worked on while I'm here I've found a great mechanic, his wife will send pics as we go so I'll post them in time.
I'm glad I've found this place and I'm happy to support it.

Not to sound like an ass or anything but it's only 25 bucks. The fact of the matter is you're not really gonna miss that. Just put it in your truck's budget, i'm sure we've all spent alot more than that on truck parts and such.

Awesome!! Best $25 you will spend! There may be lots of places you can sell stuff for free, but how many a specific to our trucks with the type of traffic this site gets?

The reason it was instituted was to help weed out the fly-by-night scam artist types that we had a rash of several years ago. A person is not likely to spend 25 dollars to try and gyp someone (although it does still happen, just not as much). Plus the added bonus of keeping this site up and running for all to enjoy.
