Back up light question

should back up lights have ground connections? I am rewiring the whole truck and doing some upgrade at the same time: front HID llights and real LED lights and so on. When I took the rear light assemblies out, there is only one wire going in to the back up lights.
By the way, I am using painless systems. Some good things and some surprises, for example, some of my original wires seems to be bigger than painless ones, also some parts of the under the dash harness are short! specially the heater part. But it is a ver well explained system specially for somebody like me with close to nothing knowledge of wiring.

Re: Back up light question

I think the lights ground through the housing itself.
