Radiator and routing. Added nipple on radiator??

I installed my radiator today. Its a 4 core that i got that wasnt really for my 71, but i got it to fit with some small modifications. It has an added nipple thats right below the small overflow nipple. Where does that go??? Its fairly decent size?

Im running the stock heater core with the two nipples on the firewall. Im just trying to figure out the correct routing....

Thanks.

It's for the heater, you can run one of the hoses from the intake, or the rad.

Ok, so i have a fitting on my intake, ,on my water pump, and one on the radiator. Then there is two on the heater core. That means i have to plug one of those. Which one do i plug?

You can but a rubber cap for the radiator nipple.

no the pressure wouldn't. Usually when you buy them new in the box, they come with a rubber cap and clamp.
I would plug the intake with a pipe plug though personally. Looks better, route a black hose kinda low, keeps it off the engine and looks a bit better. Plus, you can remove the one one the engine, and it is gone... you plug the one on the rad, and it is still there... again, just asteticly speaking.

You plug off the nipple on the radiator OR the fitting on the water pump. The fitting on the intake manifold feeds the heater core. Radiator or the water pump is the return from the core

I did some more research. Best way is this from what this guy says.

"Water circulation on a Chevy V8 goes from the waterpump, thru the engine block and up to the thermostat. Coolant goes out the intake, to the BOTTOM connection of the heater, out the upper connector and returns either to the waterpump or the radiator, where it is repumped by the waterpump and so on and so on."

So basically, block off the water pump, run the intake to the bottom of the heater core, and the top of the heater core to that hole in the radiator... Sounds good to me..
That seem like it would work LHM???
