2WD Front Suspension Question
Hello Guys!
Wanted to ask a quick question about my front suspension. I have a 1969 C10 2WD LWB that is all stock. It has 225s on stock 15 inch wheels. It has the original shocks on it from what I can tell and they are worn slam out. I want to buy new wheels and tires for it and I would like to go with a more level stance. It sags really low in the front even though it only has the I6 in it. Is there a kit I can buy to level the front end? I put a leveling kit on my 99 Tahoe but it uses torsion bars to do this. Is there a bigger coil I can buy or a coil spacer that will give me an inch or two to level out the front end. I used a jack to raise it up to the desire height and I really like the way it looks. I am sure it will hold a good 31 or 32 inch tire up front and the rear will not have an issue. Any thoughts or guys that have done anything similar to this would be greatly appreciated!!! I have all 4 of my brakes working now. I replaced all of the hard lines and master cylinder. It was quite the job but now I can stop my buddy finally. I bought all my stuff from Atheys and he was a great guy and very helpful. Thanks to this site for pointing me in the right direction to him for parts!! Jay

I'm no expert but I'll fill in until one shows up. I had this problem (front sag) on an old Cougar once and bought a pair of blocks that fit in between the coils.Seemed to work out OK,but if I were you I think I'd just get a new set of springs.

get new stock front springs then get the tires and wheels you want then measure how high the rear is and then get lowering springs for the rear to adjust the truvck to a level or near level ride if thats what you desire

You might try 3/4 springs as mentioned by 68C15, or even BB springs might raise it enough.

Ok Guys. thanks for all the info so far.
I want to give my 2WD truck just the appearance that it is 4WD is all. Could I simply just replace the front springs with new 3/4 ton springs? Also what would will I have to do with the shocks. I know all 4 need replacing. I want to put like a 32 inch All- Terrain tire in there. Do you think that would fit? Thanks in advance!

^ agreed with all of the above.
Little piece of advise for all a springs will lose thier "Tension" in about 10 years time soo that's umm 29 additional years of Gravity working on that spring. a stock bigblock for say a 72 pickup i think would do the trick just fine. 2 pennies other options would be: Lift spindles. straight axle: for future 4X4 options. call spring manufactures for a +" spring.
