Re: Daytona Turkey Run truck pics

Man I wanted to go really bad but because of my business I was not able to do so. Thks for sharing the picts. Were there any vehicles that you would consider a real bargain? From looking at that last truck for $69,500 it does not seem like people were really giving any real good deals...

Re: Daytona Turkey Run truck pics

Thanks for all of the pics. Always wanted to go but have never made the trip. Looks like alot of stuff for sale. Is the Turkey run a car show or car show and swap meet? I ask because I always thought it was a swap meet but your pics make it appear to be a car show.

Re: Daytona Turkey Run truck pics

The light blue truck was original color. It had been repainted about 5 years ago. The interior and firewall had not been repainted and color matched up perfect. He wanted $17,500.

This show is huge. The vehicles that were for sale were endless. It seemed like thousands. The infield is so huge it wore my @ss out. Swap meet area is to big.
Found one guy from Arkansas who had a great booth with 67/72 stuff. He buys up all the 67/72 trucks he can. For example he had 8' bedsides in real nice shape for $125.

There is a show car area, for sale area, and swap meet. (huge)

Definitely no deals on our trucks. A nice truck was going for mid teens to high teens. Owners were selling by NADA price. Excellent-$30,000, Good-$15,000, and Fair-$7000. They would drop the price a couple thousand and say it was a deal.
Mine's not for for sale and I surely can't afford another one, so it was interesting to say the least. It was fun, as usual, talking to the owners of the trucks.

I really like the white one. With a full trim package the white gets me excited for some reason. For the price I would have to live in it.

Re: Daytona Turkey Run truck pics

Daytona Speedway has another one at the end of March that is supposed to be pretty big too. I've never been to that one before but I think I'll go check it out. I want to by me a Nomad. I love wagons. There was a nice "55" there. I asked my wife if we could morgage the house? She would go for it.
Only $75,000.

That would be someone who watches to much TV. Barrett-Jackson Auctions for one. I didn't talk to the guy selling for 70,000, but I should have.
There only worth what someone else will pay.

Re: Daytona Turkey Run truck pics

The 70, 000 truck is one built by Jerry Brown- Truck Shop in Tenn. This truck is a updated version of the Early Classic truck from several years ago (which he sold many of the parts for). Jerry is a major player in these trucks and gets his price on the trucks he builds. I have seen this truck in person and the pictures do not do it justice. He had it at Charlotte in the fall 1 day out of the shop and was still working the bugs out then. I "think" the truck has the 572 bb in it as well as many other top of the line parts.

Well, I have a new used grill fitted, used inner fenders, new front fenders fitted, used doors adjusted, and your box on it now. The rust is all gone.
The roof had a hole in it and that's sheetmetal shut and in primer.
A little at a time. Might be done by spring. (wishfull thinking)
That box and tailgate was in great shape. Thanks.

Sorry, what do I know. It did sound disrespectful and I apologize. For real.

Re: Daytona Turkey Run truck pics

I think I have pics of those trucks also. Check out my turkey run thread, I posted a link to a few of my pics. Did you see that sick metallic blue 71? w/ the 572?
That silver bagged truck was sweet.

Re: Daytona Turkey Run truck pics

I did not mean to come across as a jerk, but I consider Jerry a friend and he does really nice work. If you get the opprotunity to speak to him you will see what I mean. He has built many of these trucks over the years and they have always commanded a very high price. I lost to one of his trucks in the nationals several years ago and it served as motivation to go a little further on the 71. If you get the chance go to theTruckshop.com and look around the site at some of the trucks he has for sale. Also If you get a chance and need parts give him a call as well, he has a alot of NOS parts and rare pieces stock piled there as well. Harold

Jerry's trucks may be pricey, but you're getting the best of the best.

Thanks for posting the pics.
