66 all orig 250,3 spd on column, still got the cardboard over the gas tank,radio,owners manual, warranty book w the lil protecto plate on the las page? everythings there runs and drives good, ...../........but.......... i jus gotta deal on a built out 350 4 bolt notched balanced crank, double hump heads, torker 2, 850 double pumper(300$) (((((cocaine is a helluva drug)))i wanna put er in my dream truck (the 66) also gotta turbo 350 fresh rebuilt? w shift kit and headers (for the truck)with homemade cherry bombs? fer 125$, heres the question i dont wanna cut a hole in the floor but i am a fan of the ol rat fink shifter, ,what steering column will swap over (if any) to give me auto on the column with ease excuse me WITH EASE!! lol

You can find one from a 60-66 truck, or I put one in from a 72 in my truck. Here is some pics of the 72 column in my truck.

A factory automatic column from a '60-'66 Chevy truck is the easiest swap. Also, try to utilize a factory automatic tranny crossmember, to simplify the swap.
There are countless options available, but if you want "ease", this is the best approach. I see them on eBay all the time and in the "Parts for Sale" forum of this site. Good luck with your project and keep us posted on your progress. PS-welcome to the forums from Kansas City, KS. |
