3/4 ton booster on a 72 1/2 ton

Can it be done or should I keep looking for a half ton brake booster ?? Yanked the only 67-72 chevy brake booster I could find at the yard.

My truck is a 1/2 ton chevy th350/350 4 barrel drum/disk 5 lug

The truck I pulled it from was a 71 4x4 3/4 ton 8 lug with disk brakes and manual 4 speed.

Thanks in advance,
Chris

Re: 3/4 ton booster on a 72 1/2 ton

From what i've read the 3/4 and 1 ton boosters are dual Diaphragm which will mean harder stopping power. I'm gonna try doing it too.. hope it works!

Did you pull the rod off the brake pedal? you'll need it... I know the brackets on the firewall are different than 1/2 ton....

Yep,

I pulled everything- I haven't had a chace to swap it in- It needs black paint no heater in the garage yet. Its cold with about a foot of the white stuff on the ground (Know its like summertime in utah to most of the NE and Northern Midwest folks).

It looks like you might be stretching the brake lines farther than you would with a half ton booster.
