Speedometer Gear
The speedometer on my 78 Jimmy does not work. On my Jimmy the speedo runs off the tranfer case. The gear that goes in the case is a machined one peice gear and shaft. There is a small keyed pin that runs between the gear and the right angle adaptor that has sheared off even with the square hole in the gear. I have found the replacement pins but not the gear. It is no longer available from GM. Anybody had to replace this. Cant seem to find any vendors with this gear, all everybody has are the plastic ones.

Re: Speedometer Gear
Yo! Try this thread:
http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...05+speedo+gear There's some links that might help,...and let me know if you find a source! I swapped my 19 tooth to the 18 tooth that was in my NP205 core, and it's close, but I think I might need a 17 tooth to be really close. There's also special order adapters that can change the ratio in small increments (+ or -) available,...check it out. Todd.
