so we went out to get a tree today....
Well it is that time of year again. My wife and I loaded up the big red chevy and went out to get a christmas tree. My little guy is four and let me tell you he was stoked. We drove up the mountain in about 6 to 7" of fresh snow. The road was a little treacherous but that is what makes it fun! we got quite a ways out and found a nice blue spruce. We cut it down, dragged it to the truck and loaded her up.

Re: so we went out to get a tree today....
I put the old red chevy in four low and drug that new dodge right out that ditch. didn't even have to try. a little farther down the road we came upon a brand new toyota tundra. We both came to a stop and I pulled to the side. he tried to go but he just sat there spinning his wheels. I backed up quite aways and waited for him. Watching as he tried to figure out which button to push to put it in four low (no kidding. It took him at least three minutes to figure it out!) Sorry didn't get any pics of that. At least he will be warm and dry till he runs out of gas. He finally got it moving (barely). He kept going up the mountian! Dumb ass. Big red never let me down. I love my truck! I washed her up when it got back to town.

Re: so we went out to get a tree today....
All in all a great day. turns out the guy has a few 67-72 cst trucks and I know where he lives. He said come by and he'd buy me a beer. All I want is the 6BT to put in big red. ( The cummins diesel). Dodge diesels- great motor- great 5 or 6 speed manual tranny= sorry about the rest of the truck. OK the rear ends are good too!

Re: so we went out to get a tree today....
Nice!
Take the kiddo and wife out to cut your own family tree... $0 Drag a Dodge owner (who also has a few 67-72 Chevys) out of a ditch... $0 Spray it off to make sure it looks good ... $3 Doing all of this in a bada$$ truck... Priceless

Re: so we went out to get a tree today....
Thank you for sharing your experience.
I really enjoy seeing these old trucks being used as trucks. I saved a few of the pictures to be used on my desktop from time to time. Danny

Re: so we went out to get a tree today....
Thanks for all the kind words. The reason I drive and old chevy and an old international is because they never let me down. when something does go it usually takes about 15 minutes to pin point the problem. Here is another pic like the first....
