I don't want to hjack, but why were the Blazer/K5 speakers was not mounted in the dash, as the trucks? always wondered......

The speakers were mounted under the dash because the fiber glass top was an option and not every blazer was sold with a top. Most Blazer dashes don't have the speaker grills made into them but if they had the speaker up on top of the dash as the trucks did rain water would ruin them.

Gary, it's not FS but here are a couple more pics to help the guys ID these blazer/jimmy under dash speakers, somebody may have one on the shelf and not even realize it. Good luck on the hunt

Gary, another guy not wanting to hijack but is the steering wheel stock and dash pad? Those are the correct color I need. If not, where did you get them?

That is the stock colors my jimmy came with sandalwood seats and gold trim steering wheel, dash pad and carpet were a gold color. The dash pad it the same color as the 68 50th anniversary.

An NOS am radio just sold on ebay WITH that speaker....$285. Maybe the guy that bought it doesn't need the speaker.

My 72 is in the dash, like a truck.

went looking just for your brackets this last weekend. I found a 69 K-5 in the salvage yard about an hour from me....... bummer though. the p.o. put an underdash ac unit in it and guess what was taken out.

Gary, Here are the pictures after removal. No dents or holes in the speaker grill, just some discoloration. Wires and connectors look good. Bracket that mounts to heater/a/c control and dash bottom/speaker is also included. I'm going to say the actual speaker will not be in working condition.
