What should I offer?

I have a chance to pick up this set of wheels . Intro Vista 5 with Nitto 555 255/35/20's . One , what do you think of the 8.5 inch wheel on the front with 5.75" backspace ? They sit under a little more than I am used to . I assume a 20x10 with 5.5" backspace would fit the back and set under also . . If I bought this set ,all 20x8.5 with the same size tire, I would probably sell the tires and have the rears rehooped to 20x10. That is a $500 process . What should I offer? Or should I pass on these and just order new 20's later ?

Re: What should I offer?

Just my opinion but I'm not feeling those rubber bands at all. Not enough sidewall. Looks like too much backspacing as well, as if they were meant for a 88-98 truck.

Re: What should I offer?

Intro's aint cheap!! I think if he would take $ 1,500 you would have a deal! The backspace is not too bad in front, you could run a 1/4" spacer to un-tuck them a little.. if you wanted.

Re: What should I offer?

Buy them, and bag it. Then the back space will be just fine...

Re: What should I offer?

Frank
it's your truck and you have no body to please but yourself

but since you asked I don't think those wheels improve the look of the truck

{not that anything would do much to make it look any sweeter }
but I'm also not digging the style

I'd pass on them
Mark

p.s. did I mention what a damn beautiful truck it is ?

Re: What should I offer?

Frank, I just re-read your post and realized what your looking at. I would have to pass on these. They do look very good on your truck, but there are too many negatives. You don't like the backspace, the tires are too short for your tastes, and the rears aren't 20x10.

Keep shopping buddy....

I think I'd pass on those, it's just not what you are after unless you can steal them.

I will agree with everyone so far and just keep your money in your wallet, plus your current combo looks better.

Re: What should I offer?

You know, after looking at these again, it's really too bad that somebody couldn't figure out how to put a set of wheels and tires together, that do any thing other than look alright when a truck is laid out.

Re: What should I offer?

I like the front backspacing. A 255/40-20 would be a better tire. Depending on how cheap they are compared to new,... would make my decision.

Re: What should I offer?

Frank, I would have to agree with N2Trux.... it sounds like you have several negatives with the wheels from the get go. IMO I would pass on this deal and opt to buy a brand new set. Granted the initial price is higher, but it is what you want 100% guaranteed.

Re: What should I offer?

I just looked at Intro's website. $2900 for 4 wheels,... NO tires.
So,... how cheap can you get them?
If you sell the tires,... how much for two rims and you can just buy two new 20x10's.
(However,... I guess re-hooping is cheaper than 2 new wheels)

Re: What should I offer?

Also, I'm with you on the wheel selection... I think they will look killer on your truck no matter if you buy this set or opt for a new set. And as Keith posted... the price could change my position.

Re: What should I offer?

me personally, I don't care for the big wheel look. for a daily driver their are just to many negatives to going huge. That being said, it all depends on use, climate, the road where you are. I have seen few vehicles that 20" up wheels flatter the truck. To me they end up drawing the eye to the wheel only. big is not always better. my .02
