Question 250 with a turbo 350

What would be the best way to swap a 3 speed transmission (on the column) for a turbo 350. I have an idea on most of the problems like drive shaft and transmission cross member. But the one thing that i am stuck on is how to do the kick down cable, since my single barrel has no place for a kick down cable? Oh yah this isn't for my truck but my 64 nova.

Re: 250 with a turbo 350

I running without the cable hooked up and it seems to be ok(we are not talking break neck speeds in a 250) There are kick down bracket out there for the 250. I had one and cut it up to make thottle linkage for my hot rod.

Re: 250 with a turbo 350

There was a factory t350 put in some vehicles, I found a t350 complete kickdown setup in a 74 nova,.. I also have seen them in Chevelles and later 70's trucks.
The only issue that I know if is your Nova has a throttle rod instead of a cable which was used in 68 and new cars and 71 and newer trucks.. both used different bell cranks bolted to the intake manifold..

This is a 71-2 truck with cables, not rods.

Sometimes the Craftsman "choke enhanser" is the only way I can get those 1bbl carbs to run!
