Anyone running a LED strip under the tailgate?
Does anyone have any pictures of an LED light bar between the tailgate and rear bumper? Will it fit on our trucks? I'm looking at a slim depth one on ebay right now. Planning on LED taillights and thought about adding this as well.

Re: Anyone running a LED strip under the tailgate?
The strips come in two lengths. One length is for the S-10 size bed OR a stepside truck and the other is for a wide bed truck. I have one on my 84 and one on my 91 truck. They can be connected to the truck by using screws or two sided tape and can be connected to the wiring by using a trailer plug adapter in the rear wiring harness.

Re: Anyone running a LED strip under the tailgate?
Thanks for the response.
I'm looking at a 60" wide one for my fleetside. Just wondering if there is enough room in there. My truck (70) hasn't had a bumper or brackets on there since I bought it and my 69 has the old large style optional trailer hitch one so I guess I'm wondering if/how one would fit under the tailgate w/ a sport bumper.

Re: Anyone running a LED strip under the tailgate?
From looking at C10 driver's picture here (BTW I LOVE THE TRUCK!) it looks like there would be room but I want to verify that before purchasing and paying shipping on something I couldn't use.

Re: Anyone running a LED strip under the tailgate?
I haven't done this, but I think that you will run into a problem when you open the tailgate. WES

Re: Anyone running a LED strip under the tailgate?
That's what I was figuring but the one I am looking at is very thin so I thought it might work and was wondering if anyone else had made it work.

Re: Anyone running a LED strip under the tailgate?
What you may have to do is put it in place with some tape and open and close the tailgate. A small fraction of an inch makes some difference on the clearance of the gate's bottom, as it opens. These were made especially for guys with bumpers and there are a lot of them out there.

Thanks for the link! Guess I'll give it a shot and when I get my truck together hope it works as well as it did with his. Looks great to me!

Re: Anyone running a LED strip under the tailgate?
I definitely am not going for the ricer look, just want some extra light so nobody runs into my truck.

Re: Anyone running a LED strip under the tailgate?
It looks real crisp at night and not ricey at all to me. I have no problems with tailgate interference either. I've been seeing alot of newer trucks lately with burned out LED's in these strips but mine has been fine so far and I got it used off fleabay

Re: Anyone running a LED strip under the tailgate?
Was there any brand on it or did you get a pic before installing it? There are several different ones like you said and I've seen several of the new trucks w/ the problems you mentioned and want to avoid that if you can. Any info you can provide would be great! And they look excellent on your truck
