Now here some pix of my longbed square body

What do you think ? I hope I can go for a ride on May 2009 ....
Right now I`m building a 305cui (0.30, flattops, CompCam, Performer-manifold, Street-Avenger)which goes in there. Later I will put a 383 together...but we`ll see.
Do you have any recommendations?

I have a suggestion.....MORE PICS!!!

That paint job is great! 22's can ride with a decent drop with no srcubbin...not too big, not too small...beautiful truck!

thank you all - no - the headlights aren`t sealed beams, - I bought èm from LMCtruck.

I like 'em too - good quality and not too expensive !

Rob, heres a pic of mine as she sits now. Have more work to do but mostly in the accessory catagory. You done a real good job!! What about brake lines? I got stainless ones from classic indrustries and I was real pleased with them. Look just like factory but in stainless steel. You going to put more paint on the frame? jim

Jim, to be honest, at the beginning I wanted to keep the old rusty brake lines - later I decided that it might be quite a good idea to replace them

the frame appeared a lot better before we started the sanding and painting on my truck... but you`re right I recently gave it a complete new coating with POR15 (I like that sticky stuff

)

Does anybody have a suggestion for buying a nice exhaust system (header back) with two pipes straight out NO EXIT BEHIND REARWHEELS...?

Anyway, - JIM I LIKE YOUR PAINT JOB - its awesome, - never seen something like that in germany !!! Perhaps I should have thrown in some of these flakes in my paint...now it's too late :-(

Rob: I did mine with POR also. Be aware POR is not UV protected and has to be painted over before put into service. If not it will turn white and peel off. Where the brake lines are concerned the classic tube lines are great. They look like factory wire wrapped and all, but everything you see is made of stainless steel, even the nuts. They are pretty easy to install IF you have the engine out and the hoses from behind the Right side motor mount out of the way and even then it's somewhat difficult. Classic makes them to factory blueprints and at the factory the lines go in before the cross member is attached. This is 4 WD. 2 WD will be a lot easier, but I would recommend the engine be out. jim

Almost 2 years of work, but it was really worth the effort. Little stuff left to do is mount winch, wet sand & buff out and build belly pan\running boards. Body work takes lots and LOTS of beer!!!! God, Guts and Guns made America and God, Guts and Guns will preserve it! The worst thing you could do is get into my sights, but that don't matter, you'll never know it, cause you'll never hear the shotJim or Paladin whichever you choose.
