Body drops? Z-frame?
Anyone have their 67-72 body dropped or their front frame/crossmember Z-d? I am looking to get the cab dropped down a bit to level it with the bottom of the frame, and Z the front end to get the crossmember up to the same level. Then bring it all together with an air suspension. The bed floor and rear frame will all be easy and quite simple to fabricate. I'm just curious if anyone has modified the cab floor, or just build a new floor and tunnel.

Re: Body drops? Z-frame?
Don't do it!!!!!. I did it and hate that I did it. I should have saved and bought a new front crossmember by Porterbuilt. There are so many problems that arise when you do this. Its a great big snowball effect and will cost you money. Stick with drop spindles and springs for now.

Re: Body drops? Z-frame?
What kind of problems? I've done it to smaller trucks and I do realize that I will run into some "unexpected" modifications.

Re: Body drops? Z-frame?
To name a few, steering, inner fenders will have to be modified, interferance problems between brake booster and valve covers, engine hitting hood, radiator fitting and also lower radiator hose. Mine goes through the frame. The more I do, the more i find needing modified. I am sure there will be more.

Re: Body drops? Z-frame?
i personally would buy the new drop member for the 67-72 trucks only cuz its available. but ive Z'd 2 mini trucks before and its actually not all that bad. measure 3times cut once.
and of course a body drop, which is not needed on a 67-72
