Do I have to drop the fender to get to that bolt under the heater core/blower on the right side??
or is there an easier way? |

Re: Removing the heater core?
You do not have to drop the complete well. I loosen it up and let it drop a little. Then I can get part of my hand in there along with a 1/4'' drive extension.

Re: Removing the heater core?
I loosen a wheel well also and was able to get it out. PO of my truck did it a little different. He cut the upper portion off.

Re: Removing the heater core?
My truck's previous owner had a similar solution: just cut a "U" into the fender well and bend the middle back! I thought it was rust damage for the first few months till I started looking closer!

Re: Removing the heater core?
I just put a heater core in my truck a couple weeks ago, was extremely easy since I have no inner fenders right now.

Re: Removing the heater core?
hahaha Ive looked at this 50x and I just noticed what you meant when you said the PO removed the top portion of the box....that defeats the purpose of all the seals and stuff huh....but Im sure made it alot easier for future removal!

Re: Removing the heater core?
Not sure. It looks like the pic with the cut up heater box has the 3/4" port on top. Mines on the bottom. Still heats well. Blower mtr sucks however
