Everybody loves pictures
I am new to the site and figured I should give back in the form of posting some pics. Considering I am on here for at least an hour every day I figure that to be a small price to pay.
My green truck is a 70 CST with a healthy 350/350 combo that I am dying to convert to a manual set-up. I purchased the 72 to pirate the disk brake set-up and the manual 3spd parts to do the conversion but it seems I am having a problem with ruining the blue one. I guess I'm nuts. And besides that I want an extra gear. I purchased a stage 3 brothers suspension kit with 3-4 drop springs, shocks, sway bars, and a panhard off of a guy brand new for $300 dollars which I plan to do something with but all of this truck madness has made me wanting a short fleet. Typical car guy problems. |

Re: Everybody loves pictures
theres no way that those last two trucks are the same truck, after only a wash it must be getting late.
if they are indeed the same truck, dont cut it up! heavens no! save, save, save it

j_cst_10...All I can say is 70cst's rock and you 70cst is sweet looking. It's amazing what a wash job will do. Although I live down by Zanesville I work for a company over in Avon.

Whoa! Nice 72 under all that! If you decide to rob the front setup. I'll gladly take the rest off of your hands.

Re: Everybody loves pictures
Not to step on Bradley's toes... But if you really do not need the Blue truck and just want brakes I am sure something can be arranged. No need to kill a decent truck just for a disc swap cha kno.
For OH that is a clean truck assuming it is original paint and body! ... Makes me want to wash my truck!

Re: Everybody loves pictures
I see a solution to your delima. buy another truck as parts for the 2 that you already have. but then again you may need two or more as donor trucks and one of them is more than likely to create the same problem all over again. what the heck, buy 3 more.

Re: Everybody loves pictures
The main problem with the blue one is that the panel inside by the windshield and visors is rotted. It doesn't look back from the outside but the inside has to be replaced for sure. Not sure if I want to do all that work and it kinda ruins resale value.

Re: Everybody loves pictures
I always thought that properly repaired rust INCREASED resale value?

Re: Everybody loves pictures
haha, well yes assuming I actually repaired the rust is what I meant. If I do nothing then the truck isn't worth a whole lot to anyone.
I don't know if I could purchase the parts to do a disk brake conversion, 5 lug axle swap, and manual transmission set-up for what I could get out of selling it as is. It is a 350/3spd tranny truck. The pictures give it too much credit. It's got its share of problems but I do have a heart for older vehicles so I'm sure everyone understands the dilemma of slicing it up. Re: Everybody loves pictures
Theres another pic of the "transformation". My green 70 did a reverse transformation. I bought it and the longer I had the more crap I found wrong with it.

Re: Everybody loves pictures
Oh, and the Buick in the background is a '70 GS with just a 350. I built the snot out of it but that's in Buick terms. Should have convinced the old man to go big or go home.

Re: Everybody loves pictures
You're right, it's a problem, that '72 just has to go, immediately. It's absolutely helpless, hapless pile of metal that no one can do anything with. Just go ahead and give me the title and I'll give you rotors, calipers, and spindles you need. Deal?

Re: Everybody loves pictures
I have the clutch pedal assy, clutch linkage assy that I took off of my truck, this should make it easier for you to save that blue truck and dont slice it up.
send me a pm if interested.
