Gastank...Can anyone identify this?
I know that LMC sells 2 gas tanks, one with EEC and one without. I have one without in my truck now but I need to swap it. I found one out of a 72 and it has EEC but on the opposite side of the tank there is another nozzel attached. I have never seen this and don't know what hooks up to it?? does anybody know? I don't want to put it in my truck if there is an open valve.

I belive the vent that runs up inside the b-pillar goes there.

Re: Gastank...Can anyone identify this?
My original tank in the truck now only has the line to the sending unit...should I even use this tank?

Re: Gastank...Can anyone identify this?
you could, just cap off the eec stuff. I had put a new tank in mine and re routed the vapor catch and everything. It is nice to turn of the truck and not smell that lingering gasoline scent.....all the time. the sending unit should fit in the exact same way. oh and the lines on the other side, one is vent line to the vapor canister under the hood. the other two actually form a loop. the loop does go up the B pillar but acts as a "vapor lock".

Re: Gastank...Can anyone identify this?
if you go to the LMC website and look at the catalog it actually shows the routings for all the hoses.

Re: Gastank...Can anyone identify this?
that's what I did in my '72. capped off the pass side one, and just ran a line between the 2 by the filler neck....

Re: Gastank...Can anyone identify this?
So I have the new tank installed with a new sending unit and I started it up.....It wouldn't stay running. I think it might not be sucking fuel...I will have to check the fuel pump next although the pump is brand new, It may have the old junk from the other tank in it. Is it possible it is clogged?

Re: Gastank...Can anyone identify this?
clogged is a maybe....if you have no way for air to get into the tank to displace the fuel being sucked out, you could be trying to overcome the vacuum of the fuel being sucked out.....if that makes any sense. Chances are that you are clogged or just got some old residue still left in it.
