Re: Rochester Monojet Problem
Not sure if you mean the needle seat screw is coming out or the power valve rod that is on the right. I wouldn't spend a hole lot of time fussing with it period. If you want to keep the monojet, you could probably find a used one cheap and combine the parts to make one along with a rebuild kit. New ones aren't very expensive and almost nothing used.

Re: Rochester Monojet Problem
This might help you a little if you need to find an older one and replace some of the parts.

Re: Rochester Monojet Problem
I feel that is a matter of worn parts. I would follow the original suggestion. You could probably find several monojets on ebay for cheap. What year and engine is it from?
Here's several ranging from $5 to $100 http://motors.shop.ebay.com/items/mo...0QQ_trksidZm38 Last edited by ol Curt; 01-26-2009 at 02:48 PM. |

Re: Rochester Monojet Problem
I'm not expert enough to tell from the pic you have whether it is a monojet or not. If your truck is a 63 it would have had a Rochester Model B. I have one of those that I think I bought from Advance Auto for a very reasonable price. You could try there. I don't see them on their site, but they aren't hard to find either. I would ask around on the inliners or stovebolt sites. I ended up going with a holley/weber 2bbl

Re: Rochester Monojet Problem
You would need the $15 adaptor plus the $75 carb(rebuilt). Mine ran great with it on there. This would give you an electric choke and the 2bbl is progressive...you are only using one unless you get into the throttle.
http://www.stoveboltengineco.com/aca...asp?catcode=33 Jim Carter used to sell the carbs...you may have to call them. http://www.oldchevytrucks.biz/55_66/full.asp?page=106 |

Re: Rochester Monojet Problem
