as far as i know everything else on both of them has been numbers matching original. i also just went and looked at my uncles 69 and his is original and it has the lower black trim as well. all three are well optioned as well if that matters.

i assume there would be nothing on the spid to determine what color the trim would be. ive only ever seen woodgrain on cheyennes but im not saying that is correct i by no means no the correct answer.

all CST trucks should have woodgrain. Also, the upper trim isn't part of the CST package.

I guess i have never seen a cheyenne or cst without the lower woodgrain. Or a cst blazer. I have seen custom deluxes with the woodgrain lower. While we are on it, would the custom deluxe burb have lower woodgrain? I assume so?

woodgrain is supposed to be CST/Cheyenne/super only.

I have owned two 1970 CSTs. One was 84k original, the other was 102k original. Both purchased from the original owners. Both trucks had lower woodgrain trim, including the tailgates and Inst Bezels, and both had factory original upper moulding. Don't know if this matters or not, but they were both Hugger Orange/White (Majority was orange, but had wht on cab and below lower moulding)

good i was hoping longhorn man would chime in. i knew hed shed some light on the subject. now as response to that are we saying now that black trim wouldnt have been seen or are you just saying that woodgrain was an option.
the only reason i ask how this is worded because im just confused if black was supposably not part of the csts then im just confused as to how my trucks are setup because i have 3 69s with black lower trim. one of which my uncle bought brand new from the show room floor with all original build sheet and everything.

I still have never seen an original cst (or cheyenne-sierra) truck that didn't have lower woodgrain.
Also in 1970 i am pretty sure the woodgrain clusters were not available yet. And in 71-72 i think it was on the supers or grandes only.

is there somethign else i should look for to tell me if for some reason the original sheet is wrong? i mean every number i have ran on all trucks have came up as cst they are all 69s

Just curious, do all 3 have woodgrain tailgate band? Do they have a cargo light and headliners? My 69 doesn't have the light or headliner.

by cargo light i assume you mean the one inside the cab and yes all three have the cargo light but none of them have the headliner. 1 has a band but is not woodgrain the other 2 do not have the band at all

The cargo light is on the outside of the cab. Shines into the box area. I am pretty sure the woodgrain band on the gate would be part of the cst also. Are you sure your 3 trucks are cst trucks and not custom trucks?

hold on.... in early 69, some CST trucks didn't have the headliner or cargo light.
If they are early 69's, they may have gone down the assembly line before the woodgrain was ready for instalation. I have never seen this first hand, nor even heard of it... however. I DO know for a fact, that there were quite a few 69 CST trucks with the headliner and cargo light missing, and even headliners made out of the wrong material.

I have a 69 cst without the headliner or cargo light. However, mine has all the woodgrain on it including the tailgate. I also got some parts from another 69 cst that had woodgrain and the different headliner. (perforated) I grabbed the headliner since it was the maroon color which i think was a 69 only color. Same as my driver.

ok i looked over all three last night. one of them i drive everyday and it doesn not have the cargo light nor the headliner. and has all black trim. the other two are not at m place so i had to go look at them last night at one of themhas a headliner with no cargo light and one has cargo light with no headliner. the one that i drive was teal and white the one with a headliner is maroon and the one wth the cargo light is black and white. all have back trim and all black. as stated before they were all heavily optioned.

heres another question it has been said that i might have a custom instead of a cst hich i dont think so from everything that ive ran already as far as numbers but ive been wrong man times before. whats the best way to find the difference between the two?

Other than the fender emblems, look in the glovebox on the back of the door for Z84 custom sport truck option. And of course, make sure it is the correct glovebox for that truck. I think the cst would also have the bright stainless around the front and back window, and the chrome wing windows. Hope that helps.

ok on my daily driver im thinking its in fact not a cst but a custom. man i love this site. everyone is so amazing.

the spid says what i believ to be custom it says 4262ac cust-comf & appear eq

then it also says 4b85ab and 4bx2bb side molding

but it has the emblems cston both side fenders. it also has all the chrome where you listed including the chrome wing windows.

ill have to look at the other 2 trucks when i get a chance great to finally get some clarity. thanks to all.
