Re: what'd it take to beat a 96 v6 F#%D mustang...
tune up the ol' 350, get something other then a column shift standard, and it MIGHT be close.
a turbo would pretty much seal the deal though..

Pretty tough speed shifting a "3 on the tree"!
I think hurst makes a 3 speed to the floor conversion that might help. If all else fails, the old standby may work.......loosen lugnuts, sugar in gas tank, or anything else evil that you can think of... and if you do get beat by that V6 stang......I'd keep quiet about it!

NOOOO! don't do that. in 1985 I T-boned an 85 Mustang with my first truck 67 3/4 ton neither was drivable. But I broke his stereo in half. at least my shaft style Kraco still worked

Just slowly cruise by and laugh cause he's driving a souless piece of crap (with a six banger nonetheless). I get ricer's revving their little squirrel cages up next to me all the time. Just smile at them while their girlfriend winks at you.
Someday, they will probably grow up and realize what a dork they were.

life gets much easier when you realize that you don't have to punch, race, or screw everything and everybody within a mile radius of you.

Re: what'd it take to beat a 96 v6 F#%D mustang...
I'd tune up the 350 and convert to floor. Not to beat him, but just to make it more fun and easy to drive.
