Trying to find Sandalwood interior parts

Does anyone know where I can buy a reproduction Sandalwood color steering wheel?

I have checked all the big suppliers I know of, and non have that particular color.

My 1970 c/10 has "sandalwood vinyl trim" spec'd on the build sheet.

thanks
Mark

Re: Trying to find Sandalwood interior parts

my brother has been looking for a sandalwood wheel for around a year now. he's finally gotten to the point of taking another color wheel and painting it.

apparently, the sandalwood color has never been repopped. and for that matter, my particular color green interior has never been repopped either. grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr!

No sandalwood you say.

If I were to repair my craked wheel with KBS NuMetal or similar, do you know if the wheel can be repainted?

thanks
Mark

Re: Trying to find Sandalwood interior parts

I believe there are some newer generation paints/dyes that will adhere quite well, but they are specific to plastic and/or vinyl.

I know powell72 has painted a few wheels and they look great. if he doesn't post on this thread, you may pm him.

Re: Trying to find Sandalwood interior parts

Thanks Doug, one wheel is painted and the other is a cushion grip so it is dyed. Mark, here's the wheel of my wife's truck, it was red to begin with. We just had the local auto paint supply store mix up her interior color into a spray can for us, I think it cost us like $15-20 or so.
