Saddle Tanks
I am looking at pulling some dealer installed saddle tanks for my 72 C-20. Do they bolt through the bed? Anybody got pics? Thanks.

Re: Saddle Tanks
They bolt through the bed. They have long carriage bolts that are held on by a funky nut on the bottom. The nut on the bottom has a square head that, at least in this part of the country, you put your half in drive ratchet in there and try to turn it until you round it out. Then you go get your grinder and grind the heads of the bolts off in the bed.
I made new bolts by purchasing short carriage bolts and welding on a piece of 1/2" all thread. The tanks have two pipes welded in through the tank from top to bottom. This creates a channel for these bolts to go through.
