kind of a wierd ?, but need advice...
alright guys, i just got the motor and trans pulled out so now there is just a chassis and suspension. now should i put the tires back on and roll it out of the garage to degrease and pressure wash or should i finish taking apart the suspension and clean everything piece by piece until i'm down to just the frame? and how heavy is just the frame alone?
i'm afraid if i pressure wash it all at once there's so many nooks and crannies (brake lines, fuel, ect..) that it would end up being a waste. any ideas and advice is welcome and appreciated! and i should probably tell ya what the goal is huh??LOL frame off resto. the frame is going to get cleaned, maybe a little wire brushing and sandblasting? and finally painted. new/reworked everything till i get her back to a rolling chassis.

there is a bunch of nooks that are hard to get to. take it down to frame and clean as you go.

strip it in the garage and use putty knife cuase that stuff dont come off well even with pressuse washer.then take to a local blasting facility.they wont let you bring it to them greased.frame does'nt weigh that much,me and a buddy moved ours around by ourselves several times.

or you could find some one that wash's big trucks there pressure washers are good and will take that off

I cleaned my frame with a rented 4000 lb. pressure washer before I stripped it, That 4000 took nearly all the dirt/grease off and left minimal cleaning/de-greasing afterward.

right on, thank you guys!!!
so i took off an A arm and have been sandblasting. its taking forever... not working too good at all. my compressor is keeping up at 90-100 psi but not sure if i'm using the correct sand. i tryed glass bead thats fine as heck and now i just tryed some 30 grit sand. still not going as i had hoped. any ideas.?? was thinking my tip is too big??? HELP!!

I use a 50/50 mix of 30 and 60 sand in my homeowner blaster which works ok for some things, Even changed tips and air offices but the baked paint on frame parts was still taking forever.
I brought home our rental commercial blaster and 210 cfm compressor which made short work of it. Just a thought, Check your local yellow pages and see if you can find someone with commercial equipment to rent or blast parts for you.
