about to order my paint for frame/suspension
hey! well i have been sandblasting parts for 2 days now and i'm about ready to order my paint for the frame, A arms, suspension, ect... there's 3 that i have been looking at: por-15, kbs coatings, and chassis saver. which have you tryed and had good long lasting results with? i have heard great things about all 3. i am just looking for something that will persuade me to hit the "add to cart" button.
i plan to go over everything w/ a top coat enamal afterwards. my orginal plan was to have the frame powdercoated but after researching i dropped that idea and im left w/ painting. which one??? oh yea, i know how much everyone love pics (i know i do), but i'm pretty tuckered out and i'm going to start a build thread soon. thanks, Dennis

Look at my build thread to see what the Eastwood Chassis black looks like... I like it.

Dennis i would go with the Eastwood stuff. I haven`t used either product but from what I`ve seen I like the way the Eastwood looks and it seems pretty durable.

Re: about to order my paint for frame/suspension
Yeah I just used a cheap one and I think it turned out real nice... way better than the brushed on POR 15 I had before.

I used por 15 and it served its purpose for a daily driver. It hasnt been tested but it definatly looks better than it did.

Re: about to order my paint for frame/suspension
I personally think por-15 is over-rated. I have used it, friends have used it...none of us were really impressed. Now their engine paint systems kick tail, but that is different.
I would either use Eastwood or similar air gun applied products...or powdercoat.

Re: about to order my paint for frame/suspension
alright!! eastwood it is. thank you... chuck, i just read through your build thread. after i read that you had used por and are doing another rebuild to fix certain things and make better and the por to eastwood was one of them i made up my mind. by the way awesome build!! thank you guys!!
i'm just a little nervous about painting w/ an actual spray gun. anthony, i'm gonna try the harbor freight gun just to start with and see how it goes.

Re: about to order my paint for frame/suspension
few things...
The east wood extreame chassie black comes pre thinned from them and can be sprayed right outta the can. I just ordered there rust encapsulater and am very impessed with it so fa. It is more like a Por 15 product but can be used on bare metal and under over fillers. I applied it with a foam brush and it layed down real well when dry. It self leveled alot better then I though t it would when it was wet. I am very impressed so far but will see how it holds up to the rust.......
