rubber seals for blazer top
I had the top painted for my 72 blazer and now I need to put it back on, the problem is the front seal( above the windshield) I only want to glue it on once, not sure where it seals at though?. does any on have any pictures of the seal location, I want it to be an one time shot.
thanks |

Re: rubber seals for blazer top
Hmmm... that is a good question. Its one I am going to have to face soon. I havnt even looked at the original one yet. I have two tops to choose from. A single and a double wall. Both tops are in pretty good shape, but will still need the dips on top straightened out. Im leaning towards the single wall, but I cant figure out how they can get the dips out without cutting and sectioning. What did they do on yours? How about posting a pic?

Re: rubber seals for blazer top
If you have the seal, it should be fairly apparent. If I recall, there are tabs that hold it in place near the corners and the sealt should "fit" into the groove. A quick test fit before applying the contact cement to both pieces should make it fairly easy to determine the proper placement.

Re: rubber seals for blazer top
Mr. Vogal, I had my top smoothed out, no rough texture, as for the dips I still have some. I wasnt worried about them because it tall enough so they wouldnt be seen, out of sight out of mind.
