Re: RARE Ebay Find "1978 Chevrolet Corvette 1/2 ton"

"original leather seats and interior"... this made me giggle a little on the inside.

I'm sure the corvette thing was a mistake, but it's funny none the less. I couldn't help myself, so i sent the seller a question:

"I've been looking for a corvette optioned truck for years and it looks like i've finally found one! Can you take a picture of the ashtray? That would really help me in confirming the corvette option pack. Overall, I have to agree that this does look like a very solid truck.
thanks!"

I'm sorry if you are a member of this site mr.seller. my question was all in good fun

Re: RARE Ebay Find "1978 Chevrolet Corvette 1/2 ton"

Those seats must have been made from the hides of those rare Arizona vinyl cows.

Not a bad looking 70 Big block truck but not Quite the truck that the add says it is.

I sent her an email and she responded that the truck belonged to her neighbor and she/they had used the same template that she had used for the Corvette she has for sale on the truck.

The add for the Corvette is pretty straightforward and nothing like the truck add so I would think she was putting down what the neighbor told her.

Re: RARE Ebay Find "1978 Chevrolet Corvette 1/2 ton"

You guys are AWFUL. It looks like an honest mistake. They are selling a corvette in this auction. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Chevr...#ht_500wt_1612Same person. It looks like they had a rough draft for the auction and then changed their mind. They just got the two mixed up and merged a few things by mistake. Although I think the Corvette should have a higher BY iT Now than the truck, which is still too high at 6000.00 for the truck.

Don't know what y'all found in the ad, but all I see is a '70 LWB Chevy that is yellow, with white spoke (wagon) wheels and a "cast iron" rear bumper. Trim is missing from the upper side of the driver's side. I don't think it will bring $8K in a "buy it now" deal.

I have been wrong before....

I like the anti-lock brake option. Where can I get that for my truck?

Not this time

As I mentioned above, I emailed back and forth with the gal selling the truck for her neighbor. She also has a so so Corvette for sale with a very straight forward add.
She or her hubby did the Vette add first and then used the template for the truck and didn't edit quit as well as they should have. Plus I believe that the neighbor spreads it pretty thick when describing that O'll yellow truck with the trailer wheels.

Re: RARE Ebay Find "1978 Chevrolet Corvette 1/2 ton"

Did anyone bother to tell her that you can edit EBAY ads as long as there are no bids? Kind of makes me wonder if they did not do it intentionally to try and get more attention, although who would be looking for a Vette and change their mind and buy this truck?

That there is what I call horrible marketing. Someone trying to sell that needs to pull the listing and do it right.

Re: RARE Ebay Find "1978 Chevrolet Corvette 1/2 ton"

I like the fact that they list it as "ALL original", then state all of the stuff that has been rebuilt. Not to mention aftermarket wheels.
That being said, it is an Arizona truck, so hopefully less rust. But an 8k buy now price, dream on.
