Red face in cab fuel tank

i made the trip from so cal to phoenix on wednesday nite and i was doing about 85 from fillmore to palm springs averging about 8 miles per gallon (damm it) and someone on this board told me the original tank is 19 gallons ...well...i don't think so......lol..... when i filled up the tank it took 20.458 gallons, and i didn't run out of fuel either..but then again ..my fuel gage doesn't work so i might have been on fumes.....has anything similar happened to any of you folks????? oooohhh yeah how big is the tank?????

My owners manual says:

10 through 30 series cabs / back of seat, in cab/ 20.0 gallons

so I would say you were on fumes.
