WIW: Long Bed Steel Floor - Rust-free

this isn't a for sale thread, and I don't even have one to sell. I'm just trying to get a better understand of what people have paid for a 100% rust free LWB steel floor. All holes perfectly shaped, cross members included.

I ask because I found one locally, but I think the sellers price is off.

Re: WIW: Long Bed Steel Floor - Rust-free

I have a perfect long bed steel floor, not even a small dent. To me, its worth a minuim of $500.00. The time and money you save on doing work to a dented up one sure would make a nice floor worth the money. I guess it also depends on how nice of a truck you want to build. What are they wanting for it???

Re: WIW: Long Bed Steel Floor - Rust-free

Well, That might be a little high by todays economy??? But, it is original GM sheet metal, and would be nice for a mint set of bed sides!! I was really thinking mine would be worth about $700.00 if I wanted to sell it.

Re: WIW: Long Bed Steel Floor - Rust-free

I have been looking at them and they go from 100-700 around here. But trying to find one that has not got any dents in it is hard.

Re: WIW: Long Bed Steel Floor - Rust-free

A vender at the Daytona swap meet in Nov. was selling a rust free long bed fleet floor for $350. Someone bought my whole bed from me just to get the rust free floor, which was the only thing on it with no rust, for $150. Before I sold mine, Hart_Rod sold me a whole rust free bed with a nice driver quality tail gate for $450. You just have to be patient and find someone who needs it.
Or in your case talk the price down. BTW, that guy in Daytona was from Arkansas if your up for a road trip. He claimed to have about 40 trucks.

Re: WIW: Long Bed Steel Floor - Rust-free

I'll sell you my perfect one for 1/2 that. all it needs is a bunch of rust holes fixed and the dents/dips pounded out. LOL

seriously though, I would say $450 - $500 for our area.

Re: WIW: Long Bed Steel Floor - Rust-free

IIRC, 70cst bought a perfect rust free takeoff bed for like $1500, so I guess its worth what its worth to who needs it. If you had to pay a body shop to fix all dents inside and out and on a used bed (and I mean really used) you'd have a lot more invested.

Re: WIW: Long Bed Steel Floor - Rust-free

I've got a rust free LWB bed floor, it has about 1 1/2 small dents and about 10 tiny pits. I need it gone. I'm hoping someone will buy it soon. I need the money.
