heating up rear leafs / lowered leafs
i know this is going to be frowned upon by a few of you but im really tired of seeing my truck sit the way it is. I was wondering if anyone has heated up their rear leafs to lower the truck a bit i have done alot of coils for people but never any leafs. I know it might affect the weight cap. of the truck and the ride might be a lil $h!tty but i plan on changing them anyways i just want to have my truck a lil bit lower that hanger/shakle setup is not cutting it. I was also wondering who makes a good lowered leaf pack for these trucks.

Of course your going to get crap for it. It's just the wrong thing to do.
Lets look at another route. How many leaves are in your pack? Can you remove a leaf and accomplish the same thing?

The flip kit is a much safer way to go and it's easier. You could probably buy a used kit for made cheap too. Afterall there isn't much to it.

Re: heating up rear leafs / lowered leafs
I bought a DJM 3/5 drop for $50 off of craigslist. it came with 3" front springs and a flip kit for the rear with the shock relocator. Keep a eye out and you`ll fid a safer way to drop your truck. Check out ebay too.

Re: heating up rear leafs / lowered leafs
I have not heard of drop leaves like coils, you can do a flip or try removing your overload(the shortest & thickest leaf) to get about 1"-2" I believe. Mine was bought with a flip kit and removed leaves.. It only had 2 long and the overload so I bought a set and now have 4 long plus the overload. It rides alot better and doesn't bottom out like it did with the 3 total setup. If you keep all but your overload you'll keep pretty much the same ride with just a bit softer quality. Alot of guys remove that one to level out the back end with the front. Of course your hauling capacity will be reduced some but with a lowered truck your most likely not hauling anything now.

Check www.summitracing.com. I believe they carry them.

Re: heating up rear leafs / lowered leafs
Sporttruckdirect.com has the drop leafs . I used them on my tan truck and my black one . $300 a pair and they give 4 inches of drop . They used to make them for 52 and 56 inch leafsbut they told me the 56" leafs are no longer available .

just a shot in the dark.... but would a set of 4x4 front leafs work? i noticed they arc in the opposite direction as rear leafs.

Re: heating up rear leafs / lowered leafs
If there is a local spring shop near you they might be able to de-arch your springs, there's two shops near me that do it.
