Borla mufflers on your muscle truck?

I was investigating borla mufflers. They look and sound great on late model vehicles but what about pre catalytic exhaust. Price wise a 2.5 turbo XL muffler runs $183 from summit. So about $40 more than a flowmaster 50.
The thing with mufflers is that you go out and blow $300+ install time and you really don't know if you are going to be satisfied .

Thanks

Re: Borla mufflers on your muscle truck?

Seems that Borla has made a name in the "high end" or expensive sport car market. I installed $25 special from Jeg's, I think they were called Forced 1, they are the mouse trap design. They sound nice. In my '72 with a stock 350, I installed a set of 2 1/2 inch, flowmaster 40 series, that I had in a project car. The truck sounds good, but its like a small dog. The bark sounds meaner than the bite.

If your motor is stock, or lightly modified. Don't waste your money on expensive exhaust. On the other hand, if it is a real hypo engine. Go for it.
