Re: spring pads, if thats what their called

I belive they are Delrin which according to Wikipedia is atually Polyoxymethylene (POM), This is an engineering plastic, a polymer with the chemical formula -(-O-CH2-)n-. It is often marketed and used as a metal substitute. Delrin is a lightweight, low-friction, and wear-resistant thermoplastic with good physical and processing properties.

I would check with the local auto parts, or spring shop.

They are normally used to separate friction points. You will find the between the spring pack and the bottom "overload" leaf. Some spring sets have the pads between the longer top leaves as well.

Do you "need" them? Probably not, but you might get a squeaky spring if you don't have them.

They use them in racecars and such. Its stiffer than polyurethane but not as stiff as metal. BMW's use them in the control arm bearings and rear subframe mounts when they hop up the suspension for track use.

I see no reason why not. The oven temps to bake the powder shouldn't be high enough to impact the spring tension.

Not completely sure if this applies to leaf springs or not, but I know if you do a regular powder coat on coil springs....they turn stiff as heck!!

I believe so. I'll ask Justin. I know that whomever manufactures our springs for our coilovers for us (I should probably know that right, LOL) said there is some special way they powdercoat them
