So I'm looking for ways to lower my truck for cheap. I know Jeep TJ coils work for the rear but none of the junk yards have any around here. Has anyone used anything else to lower thier truck. Also if I do find the tj coils do I need the front or the rear.

I believe the jeep coils work only in the rear. For the front, I know a lot of guys, including myself that have cut off one or so loops out of the coils. This will bring it down a couple inches or more.

***I just notice your sig says your truck is a '60. You should have torsion bar suspension up front. You can crank those down and lower it that way.***

yeah i already lowered the front by torsion bar. so i was looking for something for the rear. do you know if i use front or rear jeep coils?

I would guess the rear, but I'm not sure exactly. There's a guy on here by the name of "slepysal" that used them on his truck. Maybe he'll chime in, or you can PM him.

I used them too....you need the rear ones
I put an add on craigslist and got a pair for $20 in a matter of days
also if you have a local 4x4 shop, check with them, they usually just throw them away, or sell them for scrap, when they install lift kits

Been out of town for a few days... I concur with joe231 I asked around and got sent to a 4x4 guy who had a whole bed of a truck full of them.. Your looking for the rears, and try and get a matched set they have a sticker on them, just find 2 of the same....

Thanks for the help guys. After a day of calling around to tire places and my add on craigslist (and a auto recycler trying to charge me 100 dollars!!) I got an email from a guy and I'm picking them up tomorrow!

After looking locally I ended up getting a pair off ebay (ebay pic below):

From the listing -
"2000 Jeep TJ Wrangler Sahara Pair Rear Coil Springs. This part was removed from a white 2000 Jeep TJ Wrangler Sahara with 4.0L 6 cylinder engine and manual transmission...."

Paid 15.50, then shipping was a bit under 15 bucks... around 30 delivered, not bad!

I haven't installed them yet as I have a house load of furniture to move and lanscaping to do in the next months to come. I will post pics when it's done, probably summer. For now, here's a pic of the springs from ebay...

Mine was around 4-5 inches lower

I need new shocks bad but it rides nice, the jeep springs are not as stiff.
