the color of the truck is a burnt copper metalic. and on the side of the cowl induction hood i have "383 stroker" and on the front edge "chevrolet" painted in 2 shades lighter. have to get more pics that show that though. maybe 2maro. also need more pics of the rest of the front end put together.

Re: my 78 build
no. i've gotta complete the interior yet. got a set of 1998 bucket seats i'm putting in it. planning on building a custom center counsil sub box for it. i've got equiss white face gauges that i'm working on putting into a custom built gauge cluster.
the motor is still sitting on the engine stand to be built the way i want. i've got a set of double hump heads that go with a edlebrock performer rpm air gap intake. have a edlebrock 750 double pumper carb. still gotta get the cam that i want and roller rockers. should be on the road next summer. gotta get the money to finish everything the way i want it. Re: my 78 build
thank you guys. it's takin a lot of work. but i'm taking my time and doing it the right way. like i said prolly won't see it on the road till next summer then will be stored winters. it's goin to be a "mudder" wanna be. i can't see stickin this money and time into a project to take it through the mud or rocks. takes too long to clean every nook and cranny.
i wish i had pics of this beast before i started redoing it. she was kinda ugly. mud in places that you could only imagine. i'll keep you posted on updates though. Last edited by warpig98; 03-23-2009 at 07:52 PM. |

Re: my 78 build
thank you everybody. choosing the color was the hardest think to do. i went through dealer lots looking at colors and went to every parts house in my area looking at books. finally at my local napa, they have a book of custom hot rod color. and this one caught my attention right away. it's similar to that sunburst orange that is on some newer pontiac grand am and grand prix, cobalt, and avalanges.
to 84 400. the stake pockets on this truck were a pain in the as* because the previous owner used this truck for a wood hauler, so the bed rails were all beat up and mangeled. like i said i should of taken before and after pictures. |

Re: my 78 build
more pics. the hood after the lettering. this is all painted 1 shade lighter than body color and re-clear coated. SMOOOOOTHer than a babies bottom. kinda ghostly like. can't even see it if your looking at it at the wrong angle.

Re: my 78 build
more pics of the writing and some more of the front end with tires and trim and lights. like i said above, at certain angles you can't even see the writing.look at these two pictures of the whole front end, can't see the writing.
i personally like the ghostly look. gives it a more detailed looking. ????????should i stay with the amber side markers or go with clear????????? |
