Shifter cable question/rant
sorry but yah i know wrong forum, its just that more people frequent this area, so here goes. well, today after i get home from stater bros. i put my truck in reverse to back up and it goes into reverse. but then i go to put it into park and it does not go so i shut it off in reverse. so then as i am trying to find out what is wrong with it everything checks out good, but then as i am messing with the linkage i find out the shifter cable has snaped in 2 inside the cable housing, and now i need to spend more money i dont really have to be spending right now to fix it. sorry for that but now my rant is over and need to ask a question.
does anybody know were the cheapest place is to buy a new shifter cable for my B&M light truck mega shifter? p.s. and thanks in advance, any help is greatly appreciated. |

Re: Shifter cable question/rant
You can try a local shop...J and M Speed Center here in Riverside.
I always seem to have trouble with my truck after going to Staters too...maybe I am cursed because I used to work there years ago! |

Re: Shifter cable question/rant
There has got to be a hot rod shop in San Berdo. Isn't there a shop on E St.? Fat something?
The B&M trans cables are a common item in a hot rod shop. I have heard that the cables break, but usually if not routed correctly. Too tight of a bend. As for price, I think most will sell it at suggested retail. They figure they have you by the cajones.

I didn't know super shops were still in business. The one here in Riverside closed years ago.

Re: Shifter cable question/rant
WOW ... Super shops. have not heard that name in years...... I am guessing you could order a replacement from summit/jeg's as well but a local speedshop should carry something.
