been laying low for a while
Painted the truck .98c x 25 cans from Lowes (flat black) of course sandpapaper spot putty and some glass filler for the door needed to be purchased.
 The exhaust was much easier to tweak to perfection with the bed off...  Plenty of rust to supress..  The obligatory random engine shot  A really blurry before pic. Sorry  Looks better to me    This calls for a Mr. Horsepower vanity plate  Lastly, my favorite view of the truck from slightly above kinda crappy pic though  Picking up some 8" rally's tomorrow. New trim rings should be here later in the week. The wheels that are on it now will get a pair of slicks or drag radials. The passenger side door I repaired a while back, and I think it came out pretty good. It's far from perfect, but it's all I wanted to put into it at the moment. |

Looks good...looking to get a beater for work around my house and will be doing the same thing...but I think they look really nice in a flat or satin black.

I hated to cover up the 50th anniv. gold, but the original bed was too far gone, and the door was all primer. The truck was getting pretty colorful. Some day the true colors will shine through again

Jim...welcome back. The 50th had black under the gold so you have a good foundation to build from...LOL! Looks great.

I remember doing the same thing to my 72 in the early 90's. I got a case of Black primmer and primmered the whole truck outside in the yard
As yours does it looked alot better.

The drop will happen, but I want to get some 275/60's on the rallys I got today ($100 for all 4!) too see how far down I want to go. It won't be in the weeds because I think it makes the longbeds look too long.
I'm using the magnaflow stainless kit with X-pipe. I paid $400 for it on ebay. The paint I got just says flat black spray paint. I don't think it's actually a primer. It stays in the garage and out of the sun, so I'm hoping it will look good for a few years anyway... Thanks! |
