Chopped Vent window with lock

Well I want to put the locks in on my vent windows.

Alot of time wasted cutting the glass after the chop.

Glass guy say I have to put tempered glass in there before the locks.
The glass will break first time I lock em....

So going with that I have to take both windows out and get tempered glass
and drill a hole for the locks.....


Anybody ever drill through the OEM vent glass for the locks???

You can't! Tempered glass is cut to shape than ran through an oven to give it the temper,than cooled. You need to cut the glass to shape,drill the hole, then temper it.You might find a local glass shop that can do it.Laminated glass will break if you try to use it with the lock.Good luck

The glass shop here cuts the glass and does what needs to be done and then ships it off to have it tempered. Larger cities may have a shop that does it there.

o boy sounds like I need a glass shop.

Wonder what this will cost
