New Here/Rocker Panel Replacement
Hey, I’m new here. I just received my first truck for an early High School Graduation gift. This was my poppas that he gave to my dad for graduation. It’s a 64 Chevy short wheal fleet side. That my dad and I are going to restore. My question is, dose LCM have good replacement panels? Meaning dose the door still shut proper and stuff like that?
If you know of a place that carries better replacements it will be greatly apperated. Thanks, Shane(blue64) Last edited by blue64; 04-02-2009 at 08:00 PM. |

Re: New Here/Rocker Panel Replacement
it took me longer to figure out what you were asking than to think of a response. seriously, type something worth reading. everyone will be glad to help you, but you have to have enough sense to communicate like a human being.

Blue 64, welcome to the board from southern Indiana! I understood your question.
You'll find there aren't many responses like your first welcoming one. This is a great group of guys. They not only help, they follow up to see how it is going. Be forwarned....they REALLY like pictures! Last edited by ol Curt; 04-02-2009 at 07:40 PM. |

Re: New Here/Rocker Panel Replacement
But to the topic on hand, welcome to the board.
Someone with more experience will probably chime in, but I would see if you get get the panels somewhere else, as LMCs prices are usually outrageous. I imagine replacement sheetmetal is only made by a handful of manufacturers, so you could probably get the same exact stuff a little cheaper somewhere else, but I could be wrong. The guy to ask though would be LILRED66. |

Re: New Here/Rocker Panel Replacement
There's usually not any issues that I know of when it comes to outer rocker replacement. They fit up really nice. The problems arise when you go into the floor pan. Go thru my build and you will see what problems I ran into.

Re: New Here/Rocker Panel Replacement
Welcome aboard. I'm also doing the rockers on my wifes 65. The drivers side is done and I just took a break from putting the door on the passengers side to check for clearance. A great post to follow is Alan's Classic build thread.
