Charcoal canister and vacuum routing
I'm hooking up my vacuum lines and was looking at some old pictures I took before the tear down, but want to compare to something else to make sure it was correct.
So I was referring back to my friends unmolested 71 GMC Suburban. I noticed it didn't have a port on the carburetor for the charcoal canister. I had him double check to see, and it doesn't have one! Did they not use one on the 3/4 tons? Do I need one on mine? How do you tell if it's working or not? Anyone have a diagram on how this hooks up. My Chiltons manual doesn't list my year model for some reason. Thanks, s/t

Re: Charcoal canister and vacuum routing
Charcoal canisters/EEC's were not used on 3/4 tons

Re: Charcoal canister and vacuum routing
That explains it. Can we remove ours without any ill affects?
Also, I have a steel line for my vacuum advance and it's somewhat mangled. Can I just use regular vacuum line until i fab another out of SS steel? s/t

Yes,I always route them to the trash can.LOL
And,yes on the vacuum question.Definately better off than with pinched steel line.
