Murphy's Law....I hate that stupid rule!
Well, it makes sense. Two days after I sell my 4x4, we get a great big snow. That was about three weeks ago. Now today, we've got 6" on the ground and it's still coming down! This is southern Missouri, where it snows maybe twice a year! I guess El Nino is striking again.
Wish I hadn't sold my k-10! Oh well, I needed the money. Really makes me want to pursue my 4x4 conversion!

All I have to say is better snow than ice. I don't care if I ever see another ice storm. I'm still cleaning up the damn mess it left in it's wake.
Also, why is it everyone thinks you have to have a 4x4 to drive in the snow? I guess they would be nice, but I've never owned one and drive anywhere I want to go when it snows around here. I guess if you were to get off the road it may make a difference.

Amen on the ice. I hope this storm we have now doesn't move on to your neck of the woods like the last one did.
I used to think the same thing about 4x4's. But after I bought mine last year, I was amazed at how well it handled the snow. I got stuck in my own driveway today (I finally managed to get it out, but it took a while). In my 4x4, I could just reach down, put her in 4WD, and take off no matter what. It makes a huge world of difference. You can't stop any better, but you definitely can get going better. I went in to town this a.m., and there was just a little bit of snow on the road, but it was really wet and slick. I had to stop for a car to make a left turn. I was on a slight incline. I didn't think I was going to get moving again. I was just sitting there spinning. I had to keep feathering the throttle to get any traction at all. And yes, I had weight in the bed....I had some concrete blocks and some sand bags. I even lowered the air pressure in the tires for better grip, and I have A/T tires with good tread. I just couldn't get much traction. I was finally able to make it up the hill and get going again. I wouldn't have had a problem in my 4x4.

i would like a 4x4 for more than just the winter weather, i also have a 2wd and get around just fine, but would like the 4x4, i have gotten stuck in a parking spot and if i would have had a few more tires spinning i could have caught a dry spot....i did pull a truck out of the ditch the other night.. i just want a 4x4 in general...
