door window seals

Has anyone used outside door window seals from a later model or another vehicle, on their 67-72 chevy truck? The available seals for these trucks are, for lack of a better word, crap. They don't seal.

Re: door window seals

I have bought 2 sets one from LMC the other locally and nether were very good, they only touch the window when all the way up which is pretty much normal, but all of them are angled down and inward towards the glass so all the rain water just runs inside the door! Don't know why someone cant make a set that is long enough to stay in contact with the window and point upward so the water runs to the outside of the door, sigh..

Re: door window seals

The truck doors can spread at the window seals. This is especially true when the brace on the 67-71 trucks breaks between the two door halves.

In 72 this problem was fixed when a screw was installed at the vent window to hold the inner and outer door panels together.

You may want to check the opening between the two halves as a possible problem.

Classic Heartbeat has some good ones, though I agree on the door separation issue.
