Heavy Steel Rear Bumper - $40 OBO

Heavy steel rear bumper for sale, just pulled off of my '72 this weekend to install a sport bumper. Bolts up to the frame, built in receiver and hooks for trailer chains.

Was going to hold onto to put on the plow truck but that bumper is welded on. Oh well, I'll probably never tow a trailer with it anyway.

$40 OBO pickup only (too heavy to ship), would be open to trade for parts as well.

Re: Heavy Steel Rear Bumper - $40 OBO

I may be interested, not sure when I would be going through WI again though... I'm near Munising in the UP.

I'm between buying 2 trucks right now, and one is a 68 GMC c2500 with the 305v6 and a 4spd. On 6066 it came to my attention that the GMC had a Dana rearend (dana60)... Do you know what gear ratio you have in it? 4.10? hi/lower?

What is your highway speed (I know plowing doesn't require it)... do you have the np435ga or the sm465? Tell me all you can about the truck... As its about 600 miles away, and would like to make the drive in confidence.

Re: Heavy Steel Rear Bumper - $40 OBO

Yep it's a Dana 60 rear, I haven't yet pulled the cover for the ratio. Pretty sure it's pretty tall, 4.10 or higher.

The V6 has a lot of grunt if you're looking at a tow rig, work truck, or 4x4, excellent for torque - torque monster at low rpm. If you're looking for a high rpm engine, the V6 wouldn't be your choice.

Has the SM465 in it - Rockwell transfer case. I personally haven't had it above 20 mph plowing, have just front brakes for now and the plow to stop. Project this summer is running thru the brakes to get them up to par. I've heard these trucks with the v6's a good highway speed is 60-65 mph - but have yet to verify with mine

So far have replaced the fuel pump, rebuilt the carb, rebuilt the starter, rewiring, redid plow setup (engine driven pump), swapped boxes and tires, wire brushed and painted the back half of the frame.... list goes on.

I find the v6 nostalgic and also fun! (especially plowin!)
