Is this shifter factory???

I just found this picture of the interior of a 70 CST shortbox 4x4 that i used to have. I was wondering if anyone has ever seen shifters like these factory. It is hard to see in the pic but its the only one i have and the truck is long gone. The 4x4 shifter is angled towards the driver and crosses under the other shifter. If anyone has a set forsale i would be interested.

That is the same shifter that was on a 69 3/4 ton 4x4 fire truck I looked at last month. I believe that is the correct transfer case shifter if you have the Rockwell transfer case, not the NP205.

After thinking about it some i probably could make a transfer case shifter like that and find a shop to have it chromed but the rubber boot is different too. I wish i still had that whole truck but that shifter is one option that i liked and i havent seen another one like it since.

Talking

The shifter set up on my son's 70 4x4 with np-205 and 4 speed is
like the picture with the transfer case leaned toward the driver. He is the third owner, so we know the history and that it is the original setup.

The boot is certainly different!

my dad had a brand new 70 short step 4x4 and it had that same shifter set up. like the front axle assembly, it was a one year only thing.
