Re: Rear end questions (not gay lol)

I swapped a 71' rear end (5 lug), into my 70' swb 1/2 which had 6 bolt lugs. Both were rear coil spring suspensions. It bolts right up. Haven't had any problems...

Re: Rear end questions (not gay lol)

All 67 - 72 chevy 1/2 tons with coil springs rear ends will interchange. I read somewhere here that the 71-72 with 5 lug was about 1-1/2 inches narrower. I have a rear end out of a 71 in my 69 and it fits perfect. Just make sure its a chevy, most if not all gmc came out with leaf springs, these won't interchange with coils.

Re: Rear end questions (not gay lol)

there were planty of GMC trucks with coils, so don't walk away without looking underneath a truck just becouse its a GMC.
The late 70 to 72 trucks have a rear thats about 1 1/2 inches WIDER than 67 - early 70.
They are 99% direct bolt in, sometimes you have have issues with the brake hose
