That's two votes for Summit! I guess I'll try them then. Are they hard to find on their site? I just have my cell and it's a pia.

Re: Cheapest place for a 3in spindle?

Most important question, I have no idea what year my spindle is, 71-72, or 73-87. Does it matter, or are all the rotors the same, and just balljoints are different? I'll order them tomorrow and want to get the right spindle.

Re: Cheapest place for a 3in spindle?

Searched under 73 Chevy, DJM $230 and $287, and Belltech shows $312. Didn't know why DJM had two prices, both where titled the same but one had an extra letter in the part number.

Thanks for the help!

Re: Cheapest place for a 3in spindle?

i think to get a 3" spindle you have to go to a 73-87 style. i think the lower ball joint is where the difference is if i remember correctly. there is also a light duty 1" rotor and a heavy duty 1.25" rotor, thus the 2 part numbers

Re: Cheapest place for a 3in spindle?

Should my rotors and calipers fit regaurdless of the 71-72, or 73-87? How about the 1in or 1.5 or do I need to measure?

Re: Cheapest place for a 3in spindle?

you need to measure the rotors to be sure. they are probably the 1.25" but you need to be sure. make sure you get the right spindle, then the rotor and caliper will fit fine. you will still most likely need to change the balljoints. its kind of hard to say since your truck has already been converted to 5 lug at some time in the past. it may already have the 73-87 balljoints in it if 73-87 spindles were used to convert it to 5 lug/disc.

Re: Cheapest place for a 3in spindle?

It's been converted 15years ago, and I was buying balljoints but I'll buy with the new spindles.

Re: Cheapest place for a 3in spindle?

thats probably the best bet...just measure your rotor and order the spindles and balloints accordingly.

Re: Cheapest place for a 3in spindle?

Thanks for the help. I'll measure and order them tomorrow from Summit. Guess the right size for 73-87 and get the balljoints for the same year. I can get them from a local part store.
