Frameswap, drop, and airride finished.

Just finished doing the frameswap of my 72 GMC to a 71 Chevy frame. Finished the airride in the rear and relocated the tank to under the bed. Here's some pics.

That's a fine looking truck. I love the color scheme. What color's your interior? Dark Green?

Re: Frameswap, drop, and airride finished.

Guys, remember this is a GMC truck. It originally was a leaf spring truck. I installed airride on the front 2 years ago. I bought a 71 Chevy frame with rearend last year, had it stripped and powdercoated a few weeks ago and swapped everything over to the Chevy frame so that I could install the airride on the rear using the Chevy trailing arm setup and rearend. Slam Specialties all the way around 1/2" line and valves. 2 5 gallon tanks and 2 Viair 480's tucked under the longbed. 3" 73-87 drop spindles with 1" cup cut. C notch in the rear. Glock's rear disc conversion. 02 Chevy Tahoe heated tan leather seats. The interior is green and tan. Wheels are 20x8, dont remember the backspacing.

Why didnt you put your trailing arms and rear on your 72 frame? Just curious

Just guessing..... but it was most likely easier to powder-coat another frame & swap stuff over. The up-side to doing it this way is the truck is down for only a minimal amount of time vs. taking it all apart to get the frame stripped, coated, & then re-assembled.
