67 and 68 or 69-72 that is the question
Heres the deal I have a 69 or 70 3/4 ton frame and 72 cab and bed with a 68 front wrap. I ordered the body bushings so long ago that I cannot remember what year I ordered and now that the sheet metal is on it appears the core support bushings are too tall? Any info or insight would be great here fellow board members..

IIRC, the '69-72 core support bushings are taller than the '67/68's.

Re: 67 and 68 or 69-72 that is the question
Isn`t the difference just that 67/68 frames have smaller mounting wholes.I forgot what I knew on this, too.I think the question is,do you go by frame or core support?I`m doing a`67 on a`71,have bought bushings, can`t remember which, and not sure I got the right ones.I gotta start writting this stuff down.

Re: 67 and 68 or 69-72 that is the question
Got the same problem, '72 Jimmy with a '67,'68 front end. Bottom of my fenders are off...from what I gather on the boards the '68 mounts under the core support should measure 1/4"-1/2", so I just plan to cut my '72 mounts down to that demension and super glue the metal washer back together

Re: 67 and 68 or 69-72 that is the question
I just happened to be reading a FAQ post earlier today and noted the difference in the mounts. I saved a couple of pics as well. Maybe this will help.
The first two pics are of the 60-68 mounts and the last one is of the 69-72 mounts. |

Dumb question, but are you cab mounts correct? Isn't there a differencr with 1/2 and 3/4 ton?

Re: 67 and 68 or 69-72 that is the question
Luke what I do when I run into the problem that you are having is to take loose all of the body mounts.
Jack up the front of the cab with the fender bolts loose. (This will close the gap at the bottom of the fender) While the front of the cab is still held up, tighten the bolts for the fender, then let the cab down. (repeat on the other side) Then I bring the whole cab and front end down evenly, snugging the rear cab bolts a little more than the fronts. The 3/4 ton body mounts are tall and are partialy the problem. The 67-68 core support cusions are the way they are because the hole in the core support frame bracket is smaller than the 69-72. The 69-72 core support bushings are made to recess into the larger holes of the 69-72 frame brackets. WES
