temp gauge

i would like to hook up my temp gauge there is i wire coming from sending unit in the block the other end of the wire is not attached to any thing should it attach to gauge in dash sure could use some help

The wire doesn't connect directly to the temp gauge. There should be a green wire in the engine compartment wire loom that connects to the sending unit. It would connect to the bulkhead connector on the firewall. Someone may have had an aftermarket temp gauge in it which that one connected to.
