I was looking at a pair of cheap standard flowtech brand headers...i'm not looking for a performance gain really...but they're cheaper then replacing the y-pipe. Anybody using these? Also...will there be clearance with the trans crossmember for running the duals? Right now the y-pipe dumps down the drivers side but it looks like the passenger side might hit the crossmember? Would I be able to install the headers without pulling the motor? Any install tips would be greatly appreciated. Pics welcome.

I will be using Hedman Elite coated headers with my 454 C-10.

i've had 3 sets of the FlowTech headers, and they all fit great. i dont know if all places offer it, but when i bought mine at AutoZone a few years back, they had a lifetime warranty on them. as for the crossmember, you can run your exhaust under the crossmember, or get an older 70's truck crossmember that has indentations for dual pipes.

ok...thanks...that's what i was wondering. I'd go for the expensive one's but it's only a 305..hehe...just a cheaper alternative then getting the y-pipe replaced....and i get dual pipes out of it

I'm using Flowtech Afterburner headers. They don't cost much but they are cheap quality headers.

I'm using Dynomax ceramic coated headers. I am very satisfied with them. I didn't have any clearance problems with the crossmember and headers. When you have some pipes run, the shop should be able to route them around the crossmember with no problems. Here's a pic...

I can't remember which post had it but it had something about interference with the a/c bracket.....I pulled my a/c off but still have the lower bracket for the power steering....what kind of alterations do I have to do to it to get headers to fit? Thanks

cut the ear off that mounts around the original exhaust manifold...its easy..
