originally painted front bumpers(which color)
I have a 69 c-10 that was originally light green with a white cab top. Truck had low or no options from the factory. Would the bumpers have been painted green or white from the factory? (the truck is purple now but I'm going with medium green(code 518) with white top)

Re: originally painted front bumpers(which color)
I had a similar '69 Chevy 3/4 ton. I had the front bumper painted black, but I believe it was originally white. You could always get a couple cans of ghetto chrome and go to town!!

White or chrome. I don't think any where painted body color, but I could be wrong......

The painted bumpers were white only.

Re: originally painted front bumpers(which color)
If I'm not mistaken....
They would have been white only from the factory unless they were added specially (on the SPID) or a higher optioned truck (such as a CST). I love the medium green color, but the light green color isn't bad either.. Good luck with the rebuild!

Re: originally painted front bumpers(which color)
Just my 2 cents worth but I believe that the '68's had two grill color options. One was white and one was silver. The bumpers were painted to match.

Re: originally painted front bumpers(which color)
I know it's an old thread coming back to life, but I want to know about the back bumper. I have a '71 that is painted med. green, and I just got the right bumper for it. I will paint it white. With the back bumper I have it's painted black, and if I paint my front white should I paint the back white also, or leave it black?

Re: originally painted front bumpers(which color)
I just had this conversation the other day with someone who I think would be right. white in the front, white in the back if it's a smooth bumper or silver if its a step bumper.

Re: originally painted front bumpers(which color)
I have the step bumper. That would look good with silver on the back.
